We ended up last time discussing two kinds of people in the world today based on the demarcation we see in Genesis 3:15. The seed of the woman has been mandated to bruise the head of the serpent so that the serpent (satan) will have no ground of victory over your life. However, the serpent was also permitted to bruise the heels of those who will not deal decisively with the question of sin, self and the world system, by bruising the head of the serpent.
The cross is not just a historical means by which Jesus was crucified, it is the ground of comprehensive victory for all those who will queue behind the seed of the woman, Jesus Christ.
14 Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross; 15 And having spoiled principalities and powers, he made a shew of them openly, triumphing over them in it.
Colossians 2
4 Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted. 5 But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.
Isaiah 53
While I will not attempt to dig deeper into the issue of the cross, let us note that all the contrariness of your life is resolved into a nature called SIN. And wherever there is sin, satan has legal grounds to rule and afflict (by right) at will. God has made a way of complete deliverance for you, by nailing all your baggage, struggles and the inherent evil in you to the cross. On the cross of Jesus, you are set free from the power of sin, self and the world system.
Briefly, sin is the human nature you were born with, with all its propensities for good and evil. It is a nature under condemnation because it has come short of the glory of God through the disobedience of Adam. \” For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God\” (Romans 3:23). Self is your unique disposition to sin (or human nature). Self is sin domesticated to your environment and moderated by your values. This is what make us different in both our \”good works\” and offences. What about the world system?
To put it mildly, the world system is a kingdom built around humanistic values. It is built around man and for man, to make mankind easily accessible to demonic influences and to keep you under satan\’s government. The world system gives you all you want so that you can live only for yourself, not knowing that you are actually living for the devil. Therefore, the first critical step for you to take in life is to come to the cross.
This will lead to your translation into the Kingdom of God, where you can begin to live according to the Original Design of God for your life. Then, your activities on earth will become deeply meaningful to you. You will still need to aspire to greatness since greatness is service…you will still need to be competent and not complacent. Your efficiency will no longer be solely for yourself but it will be to the glory of God. This is the climax of meaning!

Thank you, LORD, for your eternal plan for me and for the complete work you have done on the cross to deliver me totally from sin, self and the world system. I acknowledge, confess and repent of my sins (take time to confess them one by one and renounce them).
Please cleanse me from all my unrighteousness and wash me with your blood. I renounce the life of sin I was born with and I accept the New Life of righteousness in Christ Jesus. I believe my salvation is eternal and I will follow Jesus to make my calling and election sure. In Jesus’ name, I pray. AMEN.
