Psalm 90:17

Especially now, that we are in a crucial moment in the history of the world. It is such a climactic time, when the Hope of all generations will descend out of the skies and bring the highest moment of joy upon the nations; although all those who don\’t want Him (Christ), who refuse to turn to Him will be in deep sorrow.

Two things are critical for us in these final days of the world. First, we need an otherworldly \”mantle\” or mark upon us that differentiates from others, that excludes from the physical/psychological impact of the pains of the times and gives a picture of the coming glory.

One of the ways this mark is displayed in our lives is, that distinct way a life is lavished with the beauty of the LORD. This is a remarkable expression of God\’s type of life, that looks impossible in our flesh and in the variety of circumstances that press us beyond measure.

Second, we need our hands to be effectively engaged, hence, confirm and establish the work of our hands. Work gives meaning to life. We are alive to do something, to accomplish an objective and to achieve a purpose. Having a sense of purpose and achievement is necessary to make sense of the life (both natural and spiritual) we have received.

\”The idle mind is the devil\’s workshop.\”

Without work, time becomes an end in itself, rather than a means to an end. This will force your mind to work in a lower potential, looking for weak activities to fill it up, whereas the same mind, in the presence of a clearly defined purpose and a profession that pursues its fulfillment, will work in a much higher potential.

More than any other time in history, we must seek to \”confirm\” that what we are doing is the \”thing\” to do with our lives and when we have confirmed it, we must press to \”Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion…\” (Genesis 1:28). We must make all the necessary lawful exertions to ensure the effect of our (good) work becomes a global influence over the mindsets and behaviours of our fellow men. That is when our work is established.

Remember, this is a prayer by that inspired prophet, Moses, and you can also make it your own prayer: And let the beauty and delightfulness and favor of the Lord my God be upon me; confirm and establish the work of my hands–yes, the work of my hands, confirm and establish it.
